Save the Date for Catholic School’s Week Events

Yep, I just asked you to save the date for events in January!  Before you know it, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then New Years will be here.

Catholic Schools Week will be starting off with the 2nd Annual Family and Alumni Basketball Day on Saturday, January 30th. Due to the huge sucess of last year’s event, we have decided to host an all day event.  Tom and Michelle Richardson are already in the planning stages and have asked us to send out a “Save the Date” to the current students and alumni of Saint Elizabeth Elementary and High School.  Last year, alumni of all ages attended.  Classes from 2014 to the 1970s were in attendance!  Alumni from near and as far away as Chicago came out to share memmories of their time at  Saint Elizabeth.  Please share the save the date with any alumni that you may know.

Sunday, January 31st will be the date of the opening mass to Catholic Schools Week and the Open House.  This is a wonderful time for parents to visit the school and classrooms.  We also invite the alumni and anyone interested in attending Saint Elizabeth to stop by for a tour.  No appointments are necessary.  Stop in!

Looking Ahead at the New School Year

Volunteering at Saint Elizabeth

Parents are always welcome to volunteer at Saint Elizabeth either in the school, church or athletic program. To ensure a safe and secure environment for the children, there are mandatory requirements from the Dioceses of Pittsburgh. There are forms that need filled out and a mandatory class, Protecting God’s Children. This process needs to be completed prior to volunteering. The next classes scheduled for St. Elizabeth are on August 22nd and Sept 17th. Please refer to the Diocese website: diopitt.org for registration and the school website for more information on the requirements.

The class is a one time reqirement.

If you have any questions on the process, please contact Ms Bechtol at school.
